Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with an Authenticator App

How to set up 2FA on your Re-Leased account using an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy — includes linking the app and generating recovery codes.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Re-Leased account by requiring a code from your authenticator app each time you sign in.

Note: If 2FA has not yet been enabled on your account, you will be prompted to set it up the next time you log in before you can access Re-Leased.

Enabling 2FA with an Authenticator App

  1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of Re-Leased.

  2. Select My Account from the dropdown.

  3. Click Authenticator App.

Linking Your Authenticator App

Open your authenticator app — popular options include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy. Scan the barcode shown on the Re-Leased screen, or enter the code manually. A PIN code will appear in the app — enter it into Re-Leased and click Confirm and Enable Two-Factor Authentication.

Generating and Storing Recovery Codes

Once 2FA is enabled, generate your recovery codes immediately. These are your backup access method if you lose your authentication device. Download, print, or copy them and store them somewhere secure.

Important: Recovery codes can only be used once. After using one, regenerate a new set immediately via My Account > Security > Manage Two-Factor Authentication Methods > Regenerate Recovery Codes.
