You can now publish announcements directly to your Tenant Portal, so tenants see important updates, like scheduled maintenance, fire alarm testing, or a water supply interruption, the moment they log in. You choose whether an announcement goes to everyone at a property or only to specific areas, and you decide when it expires.
Getting to Announcements
Announcements sit alongside your other Tenant Portal settings:
Open the menu in the top right (available from anywhere in Re-Leased) and select Settings.
In the Portals section, select Manage Tenant Portal.
Select the Announcements tab, next to Users.
Viewing your announcements
The Announcements tab groups your announcements by property, so you can quickly see what's live where. Each announcement shows its title and a preview of the description, a colour-coded status (Active, Deactivated, Expired, or Archived), whether it's targeted to specific areas or visible to all tenants, who last updated it and when, and its expiry date and time.
Use the Search properties field to jump to a specific property, or the Status filter to control which announcements appear.
Creating an announcement
You can start a new announcement in two ways: click + Create Announcement at the top of the page to choose the property yourself, or click the + Create link next to a specific property to have it pre-selected.
Property - search for and select the property this announcement applies to. This can't be changed later.
Title - give your announcement a clear, short title.
Description - add the detail your tenants need.
Target areas - choose who sees the announcement (see below).
Expiry date and time - choose when tenants stop seeing it (see below).
Click Create to publish. Your tenants will see it in their portal straight away, and you'll get a confirmation message on screen.
Targeting specific areas vs. all tenants
By default, an announcement is visible to every tenant at the property. If you only want to notify tenants in certain areas, for example a single building or a handful of units affected by planned works, use the Target areas field to search for and select those areas. Leave it empty to show the announcement to all tenants at the property.
Setting an expiry date
An expiry date controls how long an announcement stays visible to tenants. Choose a date from the calendar, then optionally choose a time. If you don't set a time, the announcement expires at the end of the selected day. If you leave the expiry date blank altogether, the announcement stays active until you deactivate or archive it yourself.
Once an announcement passes its expiry date and time, its status automatically updates to Expired, you don't need to do anything for this to happen.
Editing, deactivating, and archiving an announcement
Click the three-dot menu at the end of any announcement's row to:
Edit - update the title, description, target areas, or expiry date. The property can't be changed. Click Save to apply your changes.
Deactivate - temporarily hide the announcement from tenants without deleting it. You can reactivate a deactivated announcement the same way, so it's a good option for pausing something rather than ending it for good.
Archive - move the announcement out of your default view. Archived announcements only reappear if you tick Archived in the Status filter.
How it looks to your tenant
Tenants see your announcements through the notification bell on their Tenant Portal dashboard. A count badge shows how many announcements are waiting, and clicking the bell opens a list with each announcement's title, property, the date and time it was posted, and the description, with a See more link to expand a longer message.
Tenants only see announcements that apply to them, either because the announcement is visible to all tenants at the property, or because they're in one of the targeted areas, and announcements disappear from their view automatically once they expire, are deactivated, or are archived.
