Situations may arise where unlinking a record becomes necessary to continue smooth operation between Re-Leased and QuickBooks Online. One common example is when a contact in QuickBooks is set to use multi-currency—a feature Re-Leased does not support. Once enabled, this setting cannot be disabled in QuickBooks, which can lead to sync issues that require unlinking to resolve.
How to Unlink Records
- Locate the record with the sync error by selecting the flag icon and then clicking on the validation message to reveal detailed information.
- Take careful note of the error specifics, such as the contact name or invoice ID, that may be leading to the sync failure. Alternatively, skip to step 3 and manually search for the record.
- Navigate to the Sync Results page. Set the filter to Linked' or Show all and search for the record by entering the Id in the search bar.
- Select the problematic record and then click on Unlink Records. By doing this, the record will be excluded from future syncing.
Managing Unlinked Records
Records that have been unlinked are not gone forever. They can be easily found when applying the Unlinked filter on the Sync Results page. If at any point you resolve the underlying issue that caused the sync failure, you can opt to relink the record. However, it's important to be diligent—if the initial sync problem hasn’t been addressed, you are likely to encounter the sync error again.
Relinking Records
If you've corrected the issue that caused the initial unlinking, you may wish to reinstate the sync for a previously unlinked record. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to the Unlinked filter on the Sync Results page.
- Find and select the record you wish to relink.
- Click on Link Record to re-establish syncing for that specific entry.
Keep in mind that relinking without resolving the issue will result in the same syncing error. Always ensure that the record complies with Re-Leased's requirements before attempting to re-establish the connection.
