Setting Up a Rental Bond Authority or Interest-Bearing Account Contact

  • Updated

Users in the Asia-Pacific region may encounter different terminology within our system, such as "Bonds" instead of "Deposits" in Europe, "Tenants" instead of "Leases" in North America, and "Trust Accounts" rather than "Client Accounts" in Europe. This article will use Asia-Pacific terms. For clarity on regional terminology, please reference our Glossary of Regional Terminology.

This guide will walk you through the process of creating a Rental Bond Authority or setting up an Interest-Bearing Account as a contact within your client/trust account. This is a necessary step for managing rental bonds and ensuring compliance with financial accounts.

Creating a Rental Bond Authority Contact

To associate a Rental Bond Authority with a Trust Account, you'll first need to set it up as a contact. You can also use these instructions for Interest-bearing bank accounts. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Go to the Contacts section of your system.
  2. Select the option to Add New Contact.
  3. When filling out the contact details, set the Contact Category to Bond Authority.

For Interest-Bearing Accounts, follow a similar process while ensuring the Contact Category is set correctly according to your needs.

Filling in Contact Information

After you've set the contact category:

  1. Complete the rest of the contact fields.
  2. Save the contact details by clicking the Save button or the equivalent action in your system.

With the Rental Bond Authority or Interest-Bearing Account now set up as a contact, you will be able to link it to relevant bond lodgements.
