Troubleshooting DNS Issues (Clearing Your DNS Cache)

  • Updated

If you're having trouble accessing Re-Leased due to a DNS issue — such as getting a “site not found” or other connection errors — it may be caused by outdated DNS information on your device or network.

Here's how you can try resolving it.

Recommended First Step: Wait It Out

In most cases, DNS issues resolve automatically within minutes to a few hours. Your device, network, or browser will refresh its DNS information on its own.

If you're not in a rush, this is the simplest and safest option — no action required.

Need Faster Access? Try These Steps

If you're in a hurry to regain access to Re-Leased, you can try clearing your DNS cache using the options below.

Option 1: Clear Your Browser DNS Cache (Google Chrome)

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. In the address bar, type chrome://net-internals/#dns and press Enter.

  3. Click the “Clear host cache” button.

  4. You don’t need to restart Chrome afterward — just try accessing Re-Leased again.

Option 2: Flush Your System DNS Cache (Windows)

  1. Click Start, type cmd, and press Enter to open Command Prompt.

  2. In the Command Prompt window, type ipconfig /flushdns

  3. Press Enter.

You should see a message confirming the DNS cache was cleared.

Option 3: Contact Your IT Team

If your organisation uses an internal DNS server, proxy, or firewall, your IT team may need to clear the DNS cache from their side. Let them know you're having trouble accessing Re-Leased, and that you suspect it may be related to stale DNS records.

🧘 Most Customers Won’t Be Affected

The majority of users will never encounter this issue. But if you do, the steps above can help get things working again quickly.
