How to Connect Re-Leased to Dynamics Business Central
This guide will walk you through connecting Re-Leased to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. We'll provide step-by-step instructions to ensure a seamless connection between the two platforms. If you're an administrator in Dynamics Business Central, you're ready to get started!
Note: This integration is currently in early beta, and the extension file for syncing "Payments and Allocations" is optional. You can test this feature after establishing the initial connection.
Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure you have the following:
- Global admin or Dynamics 365 Admin access in Dynamics Business Central.
- Admin privileges in Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
- Access to your organization's Azure Portal.
Step-by-Step Connection Guide
1. Navigate to Integrations & Add-ons
To start setting up the connection:
- Log in to your Re-Leased account and navigate to the Settings menu.
- Select Integrations & Add-ons from the dropdown list.
2. Connect to Dynamics Business Central
- In the Integrations & Add-ons page, find the Dynamics Business Central option and click Connect.
- You will see a prompt asking for your Tenant ID. Follow the next step to locate it.
3. Find Your Tenant ID
- Log in to the Microsoft Entra admin center using your Dynamics admin credentials.
- Navigate to Identity > Overview > Properties.
- Scroll down to the Tenant ID section and make a note of this ID.
4. Set Up Application Credentials
You'll need an Application ID and Client Secret from a previously registered Entra Application. If your application hasn’t been set up yet, you need to create a 'Registered Application' in your Azure tenant.
Please make sure the following redirect URIs are set in the Entra application:
https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/OAuthLanding.htmhttps://function-app-global.azurewebsites.net/api/OAuthRedirect
4.1 Create a New Entra App Entry
- Go to the Microsoft Entra Applications page in Dynamics (you can search 'Entra' to find this) and create a new Entra App entry.
- Note: The Client ID requested is the Application (client) ID on the Dynamics side
4.2 Grant Permissions
Enable the app then grant necessary permissions. The required permissions include:
- D365 AUTOMATION: Dynamics 365 Automation (Base Application) - System
- D365 FULL ACCESS: Dynamics 365 Full Access (Base Application) - System
- EXTEN. MGT. - ADMIN: Extension Management (System Application) - System

5. Enter Your Credentials
Return to Re-Leased where the integration setup wizard is waiting:
- Tenant ID: Enter your Tenant ID noted earlier.
- Application ID: Input the Application ID from your Entra App.
- Client Secret: Include the Client Secret from your Entra App. (note this is the secret value)
- Environment Name: If using a sandbox, add the name here. Otherwise, leave it as default.
- Click Connect to Dynamics Business Central.
6. Select Your Company
Once authenticated, you'll be prompted to select a company from your Dynamics account. Choose the one you want to connect with Re-Leased.
Managing Extensions in Dynamics Business Central
The extension file enables "Payments and Allocations" syncing. This step is optional during setup but can be completed after the initial connection is established.
Step-by-Step Extension Installation
1. Access Advanced Settings
- Log in to your Dynamics Business Central account.
- From the main menu, click on the Settings gear icon at the top-right corner.
- Select Advanced Settings from the dropdown menu.
2. Navigate to Installed Extensions
- In the Advanced Settings window, find and click Extensions.
- Switch to the Installed Extensions tab to view currently available extensions.
3. Upload a New Extension
- Under the Manage section, click Upload Extension.
- Locate and select your .app file from the file explorer, then click Open.
4. Deploy the Extension
- After selecting the .app file, click Deploy to install the extension.
- Once deployed, the extension will appear under your Installed Extensions list and be ready for use.
