Set Up Contact Exclusions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

  • Updated

This guide explains how to use the Contact Exclusion feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to control which Customers/Vendors are synced between Business Central and Re-Leased. By configuring exclusions, you can ensure only relevant data transfers to Re-Leased, streamlining your processes and reducing unnecessary syncing.

Exclude a Customer/Vendor from Syncing

You can exclude specific Customers/Vendors from syncing with Re-Leased. Here's how:

  1. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, open the Customer Card or Vendor Card for the contact you want to exclude.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the card.
  3. Set the Re-Leased Syncing Disabled toggle to On.

Once enabled:

  • The Customer/Vendor and all related invoices and credit memos will be ignored during syncing.
  • Note: If the toggle is enabled after data has already synced into Re-Leased, the relevant Customer/Vendor and all associated invoices and credit notes will be removed from Re-Leased during the next sync.

Set a Default for New Customers/Vendors

You can configure default settings so that all new Customers/Vendors are automatically excluded from syncing. Follow these steps to set the default:

  1. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, use the search bar and search for Re-Leased Setup.
  2. Select Re-Leased Setup from the results.
  3. On the Re-Leased Setup page, configure the following toggles:
    • Default Customer Sync Disabled – Set to On to exclude all new Customers from syncing by default.
    • Default Vendor Sync Disabled – Set to On to exclude all new Vendors from syncing by default.

Note: These default settings only apply to new Customers/Vendors created after the setting is enabled. Existing Customers/Vendors are not affected.
