Re-Leased can automatically set the Related Property field on invoices based on the tracking option assigned to a property. If your company does not use Xero tracking categories or you prefer to select properties manually on invoices, you can disable this behavior using the Disable property auto-matching setting.
Overview
By default, Re-Leased uses tracking categories from Xero to automatically match invoices to properties. When an invoice is generated from a property that has a tracking default configured, the Related Property field is set automatically based on the tracking option value.
This works well for companies that use Xero tracking categories. However, if your company does not use tracking categories - or you need manual control over which property is assigned to an invoice this automatic behavior prevents you from editing the property field directly. The Disable property auto-matching setting resolves this by decoupling the property field from tracking categories.
How It Works
When Disable property auto-matching is enabled:
- The Related Property field on invoices is no longer automatically set based on tracking options. You can select properties manually on each invoice.
- Tracking category defaults configured on the Property Tracking page still apply to invoice lines as normal. Only the automatic property assignment is affected.
When Disable property auto-matching is disabled (the default):
- The Related Property field is automatically set based on the tracking option assigned to the property. The property field cannot be edited manually on invoices.
Enabling the Setting
To disable property auto-matching:
- Navigate to Settings > Manage Add-ons and Integrations.
- Click View Details on the Xero tile.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Enable the Disable property auto-matching toggle.
When to Use This Setting
This setting is designed for the following scenarios:
- Your company does not use tracking categories - You still need to assign properties to invoices but have no tracking categories configured in Xero.
- You want manual control over property assignment - You use tracking categories for reporting but prefer to select the related property on invoices yourself rather than having it set automatically.
Troubleshooting
Having issues with the property field on invoices? Follow these steps to troubleshoot:
- If you cannot edit the Related Property field on invoices, check that the Disable property auto-matching toggle is enabled under Settings > Manage Add-ons and Integrations > Xero > Settings.
- If the property field is blank and you expect it to be set automatically, verify that the toggle is disabled and that tracking defaults are configured on the property's Property Tracking page.
- If tracking categories are not appearing on invoice lines, this is unrelated to the auto-matching setting. Check that tracking defaults are saved on the property in Property Tracking.
