Setting Up Custom Rent Payment Frequencies

How to set up custom rent payment frequencies in Re-Leased — create non-standard payment schedules such as rent-free periods or English quarter dates, and apply them to a lease/tenancy's payment frequency settings.

Updated over a week ago

Custom rent payment frequencies allow you to manage rent schedules that don't follow standard intervals — such as rent-free periods or traditional English quarter dates. Once created, they can be applied to any lease/tenancy's payment schedule.

Applying a Custom Payment Frequency to a Lease/Tenancy

  1. Open the relevant Lease/Tenancy.

  2. Select Rent & Outgoings from the sidebar.

  3. Open an existing rent entry or create a new one.

  4. In the Payment Frequency dropdown, select your custom frequency.

  5. Choose the starting date for the first rent payment.

Note: Custom payment frequencies are most useful for irregular schedules that don't align with standard intervals. For simple quarterly payments, use the standard "every 3 months" option instead. When selecting the first payment date, ensure it aligns with your custom schedule and the lease commencement date.

In North America, "Tenancies" are referred to as "Leases" and "Outgoings" as "Operating Expenses" or "Service Charges". For more information, see our Glossary of Regional Terminology.
