Managing Types

How to manage Types in Re-Leased Settings — create, import, edit, archive, and restore Lease/Tenancy, Area, Maintenance, Insurance, Property, and other type categories used across the platform.

Types are labels that categorise elements of your property portfolio — including tenancies, areas, maintenance items, insurance policies, and properties. They are managed in Settings and shared across all companies.

Accessing Types

  1. Navigate to Settings > General.

  2. Select the relevant Type category.


Creating a New Type

  1. Click + Create New Type at the top-right.

  2. Enter a title.

  3. Click Save Type.


Importing, Editing, Archiving, and Restoring Types

  • Importing — use the Import button to bulk-upload new Types.

  • Editing — click a Type, make changes, and click Save.

  • Archiving/Restoring — click the Type and select Archive or Restore.


Type Categories

  • Lease/Tenancy Types — identify tenancy arrangements and simplify report filtering.

  • Lease/Tenancy Form Types — specify form types for leasing documentation.

  • Review Types — define rent review parameters including percentage-based evaluations.

  • Area Types — distinguish between different areas within properties.

  • Maintenance & Inspection Types — classify maintenance and inspection tasks.

  • Rent Types — set up rent conditions for Rent Templates with predefined income account allocations.

  • Insurance Types — sort insurance policies by category.

  • Property Types — group properties into appropriate classes.

  • Zoning Types — differentiate zoning designations on property title records.

Many Types can also be added directly from dropdown menus when managing specific records (e.g. Leases/Tenancies).


In North America, "Tenancies" are referred to as "Leases". For more information on regional terminology, see our Glossary of Regional Terminology.
