Managing Utility Meter Readings

How to manage utility meter readings in Re-Leased — enter individual readings or use bulk entry, generate tenant invoices from readings, and track utility invoices in the Income and Expenses tab.

You can manage utility meter readings on a property in Re-Leased and generate invoices for tenant billing — either one meter at a time or in bulk.

Individual Meter Reading Management

  1. Navigate to the property and click the Utility Meter tab from the left-hand menu.

  2. Review or edit the initial meter reading date or value as needed.

  3. Click New Reading and fill in:

    • Reading Taken On — date of the reading.

    • Reading — meter reading value.

    • Chargeable — whether this reading generates invoices.

    • Unit Price — confirm or edit the default.

    • Standing Charges — review and adjust if applicable.

  4. Click Save.

  5. From the readings list, choose to Edit, Archive, or Generate invoices.

To generate invoices from a reading: click Generate invoices, set the invoice due date and service date, then confirm.


Bulk Meter Readings

  1. Click Bulk Readings.

  2. Enter details for each meter:

    • Readings Taken On — uniform date for all readings.

    • Chargeable — chargeable status for all.

    • Standing Charges — adjust defaults as needed.

    • Unit Price — review or modify per meter.

    • Current Reading — enter each meter's value.

  3. Click Save or Save and Generate Invoices.

  4. On the invoice page, select which readings to bill for.

  5. Click Generate Invoices.

Invoices created from meter readings can be tracked in the Income & Expenses tab, or via the Meter Reading > Invoices section on the property.
