Self-guided demo: Entering Expense Invoices
Quick Access
Create a new expense invoice from two places:
Use the [+] Quick Links dropdown in the main navigation bar and select New Expense Invoice.
Navigate to Income and Expenses and select New Expense Invoice from the dropdown at the top right.
Entering Invoice Details
Select the Property and, if relevant, the Related Tenancy. Decide whether the expense will be on-charged to the tenant.
In the From field, select the creditor supplying the invoice.
Enter the Issue Date and Due Date. If Service Date is active in your company settings, it also appears here and determines which budget period the expense is allocated to. If left blank, the Due Date is used instead.
Set amounts as tax inclusive or exclusive. This preference can be defaulted in the Invoicing section of your company settings.
Enter the Description (appears on the owner's statement for Trust Accounting customers), the amount, chart of account code, and tax type.
Optionally hold the expense invoice until the tenant pays the corresponding income invoice, or attach a copy of the expense to the tenant's income invoice.
Attach any relevant documents. For Trust Account users, a copy of the expense invoice is included with the owner's statement.
Note: If you use a Connected Accounting platform, ensure tracking categories are correctly configured so that bills paid in your accounting system sync to Re-Leased as property expense invoices. Attachments from Xero do not sync due to API limitations.
