When you allocate a credit note to an invoice, you can now choose how much of the credit goes to each line item, instead of letting Re-Leased spread it proportionally. Your owner statements, tax returns and budget reports then reflect exactly what you credited, line by line.
Getting to the allocation screen
There are three ways to reach Allocate credit note balance:
Open the credit note and choose Allocate Credit from the More menu. This is available once the credit note is approved and has a balance remaining.
On an invoice's details page, choose Credit this invoice.
Save and approve a credit note. Re-Leased takes you straight to the allocation screen.
Allocating the credit
Click the Amount to credit box on the invoice you want to credit. Re-Leased pre-fills it with the remaining credit, or the invoice's amount due if smaller, you can adjust this.
Select the pencil icon on the row to open Split Credit Allocation.
Choose your line item allocations and Save.
If you allocate more than the credit note holds, Available and Remaining turn red, and you will not be able to save until you reduce the amounts.
After you save a split
Once you confirm, the invoice row's Amount to credit box becomes read only and shows the total of your line allocations, so the two cannot drift apart. To change it, reopen the dialog and adjust the line items.
To remove a split and go back to typing a single figure, select the clear icon beside the pencil, or confirm the dialog with every line set to zero.
How splits show up in your reporting
Line level allocations flow through to the reports that depend on them. This affects owner statements (including the disbursement preview), tax returns and budget reports.
