Re-Leased connects to five accounting systems. Your property and lease data stays in Re-Leased, your financials stay in your accounting system, and the two keep each other up to date.
This article covers which connection applies to you, how often your data moves, and what you'll need in place before you start.
The five systems
Xero
One Re-Leased company connects to one Xero organisation. An automatic sync runs every night. Invoices and credit notes you create or edit in Re-Leased push to Xero straight away, and you can run a sync manually at any time.
QuickBooks Online
One Re-Leased company connects to one QuickBooks Online company. This is the only integration that syncs during the day as well as overnight. Property tracking uses Classes, which are only available on the QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced plans.
Sage Intacct
One Re-Leased company connects to one Sage Intacct entity. Multi-entity environments need Multi Entity Management enabled in Intacct. If your Intacct instance uses top-level accounting, or your finance team manages everything centrally, you can turn on Top-Level syncing so transactions record at the organisation level instead of against individual entities.
Oracle NetSuite
One Re-Leased company connects to one NetSuite subsidiary, and its child subsidiaries sync with it. Your NetSuite account needs subsidiaries enabled, so single-entity accounts can't use this integration. During setup you'll select the subsidiary and switch your NetSuite role to the Re-Leased Integration Role.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Beta)
One Re-Leased company connects to one Business Central company. Requires cloud-based Business Central version 25 or later. On-premises versions aren't supported, and this is a separate product from Dynamics 365 Finance, which Re-Leased doesn't connect to. Payments flow from Business Central into Re-Leased only, and tax is calculated in Business Central rather than in Re-Leased.
How often your data syncs
Every integration syncs overnight. QuickBooks Online also syncs through the day, and most integrations push invoice changes across as soon as you make them.
Your accounting system | Overnight sync | During the day | Manual sync |
Xero | Yes | Invoices and credit notes push to Xero on change | Yes |
QuickBooks Online | Yes | Every hour during business hours, plus invoice changes on change | Yes |
Sage Intacct | Yes | Invoice and contact changes push to Intacct on change | Yes |
Oracle NetSuite | Yes | Invoices and credit notes push to NetSuite on change | Yes |
Dynamics 365 Business Central | Yes | Invoices and credit notes push on change | Yes |
Two things to know about on-change syncing:
It only works one way. Changes you make in Re-Leased push out immediately. Changes made in your accounting system wait for the next full sync.
It doesn't cover everything. Contacts and credit note allocations sync on the full sync rather than immediately, so allow for that when you're working to a deadline.
To run a sync yourself, go to Settings > Manage Add-ons and Integrations, open your connection, and select Sync.
What every connection does
Whichever system you connect, the same things are true:
Contacts, invoices and credit notes move between both systems, so you enter them once
Your chart of accounts, tax types and tracking come from your accounting system. They're read-only in Re-Leased, and Re-Leased can't create them
If you change the same record in both systems, Re-Leased wins. Outbound changes sync before inbound ones
Approval status matters. Draft and awaiting-approval invoices behave differently in each system, so check your platform's articles before you start invoicing
Bank reconciliation stays in your accounting system. Re-Leased doesn't reconcile
What each system calls property tracking
Every integration uses your accounting system's own tracking feature to link transactions back to a property.
Your accounting system | What tracking is called |
Xero | Tracking Categories |
QuickBooks Online | Classes |
Sage Intacct | Dimensions |
Oracle NetSuite | Classifications |
Dynamics 365 Business Central | Dimensions |
Set this up in your accounting system before you connect. See Property tracking and coding for how tracking flows through to your invoices.
Before you connect
The connection is one-to-one and permanent. Once a Re-Leased company is connected to an accounting company, entity or organisation, you can't re-pair it with a different one. Check you're connecting the right pair.
Choose your Sync From Date carefully. This sets how far back Re-Leased pulls transactions. In Xero it's fixed once set and survives a disconnect and reconnect. In NetSuite it can't be earlier than 2018, and we recommend going back no more than two years.
Clean up your contacts first. Contacts that don't match exactly across the two systems create duplicates at connection.
