Run the Journals Report

COMING SOON

The Journals Report shows every general ledger entry for a company across a date range — every debit and credit posted by the system or manually, grouped by journal. Use it when you need a complete audit trail of accounting activity, or to check exactly which journals make up a balance on another report.

Before you begin

The Journals Report is only available for companies with accrual accounting enabled. To open it:

  1. Go to ReportingGeneral Reports.

  2. In the Financial column, click Journals Report.

Run the report

Set the filters at the top of the page:

  • Company — the company you're reporting on.

  • Start Date and End Date — the transaction date range for the report.

  • Owner, Property, Account — optional filters to narrow the report to specific dimensions or a specific chart of account.

Click Filters to open the side panel for more options:

  • Tenancy and Ledger — filter by tenancy or ledger (for trust/client accounting companies).

  • Source — filter by journal source, for example Invoice, Payment, Allocation, or Manual.

  • Side — show all journal lines, or only debit lines, or only credit lines.

  • Show reversal journal pairs — include reversed journals and their reversal entries. Off by default, so the report shows only the net position.

Click Apply filters > Run to load the report with the selected filters.

Read the report

Each row is a single journal line. Where multiple lines belong to the same journal, the Date, Journal #, Source, Status, and Reference cells appear only on the first line of that journal to keep the layout readable.

The columns are:

  • Date — transaction date of the journal

  • Journal # — Re-Leased's internal journal number. Click it to open the full journal in the Journals area.

  • Source — what created the journal (Invoice, Payment, Allocation, Manual, and so on)

  • Status — Posted, Reversed, or Reversal

  • Reference — the source document reference (for example, an invoice number). Click it to open the source document.

  • Description, COA, Owner, Property — line-level detail for each entry

  • Debit and Credit — the amount posted

The TOTAL row at the bottom shows the sum of all debits and credits for the filtered results. If your filters return a balanced view (all sides included), these will match.

Use the Per page control at the bottom to adjust how many journals show per page.
