Resolving Items in the Suspense Tasks

For our Asia-Pacific customers, the term "Trust Account" is used, while European customers refer to it as "Client Account". It's important to mention that the Client/Trust Accounting functionality does not apply to customers in North America. There may be times when you need to clear transactions that are in suspense or offset contra items that cancel each other out and do not require posting to a ledger. This article provides a clear set of instructions to help you resolve these items efficiently and maintain accurate financial records.

 

Resolving Bank Statement Items Against each other in Suspense

  1. Use Find & Match to add the bank statement transaction to suspense.
  2. Navigate to the Suspense Task List to view outstanding items.
  3. Use the checkboxes on the left to select the matching items.
  4. Click Resolve Selected in the top right corner to complete the resolution.

Resolving an Item in Suspense to an Invoice

  1. Use Find & Match to add the bank statement transaction to suspense.
  2. Navigate to the Suspense Task List to view outstanding items.
  3. Click Resolve against the item and tick the checkbox next to the relevant invoice/s.
  4. Keep in mind that the total of the invoices need to match the amount of the suspense item.

 

Viewing Completed Suspense Tasks

To review tasks that have been previously completed, click the Completed Tasks tab against the Suspense Ledger Tasks.
