Overview of Ledger Dependencies
Archived ledgers often prevent the restoration of associated entities such as tenancies, properties, or owners. To restore these entities, the linked ledger must first be reactivated.
General Steps to Restore Archived Ledgers
Navigate to Client/Trust Accounts → Owner Ledger Balance.
Change the filter to display Archived ledgers.
Locate the relevant ledger linked to the entity you wish to restore.
Open the ledger and click Restore Ledger to reactivate it.
Specific Scenarios
Restoring a Tenancy
Follow the steps above to restore the linked ledger.
Navigate to Archived Tenancies.
Locate the tenancy and click Restore.
Restoring a Property
Reactivate the linked ledger as described in the general steps.
Navigate to Properties → Filters → State: Archived.
Locate the property, open the three-dot menu, and select Restore.
Restoring an Owner and Owner Ledger
Part 1: Restore the Owner
Go to Trust Accounts → Owner Ledger Balance.
Filter for Archived ledgers.
Search for the ledger and open it.
Click the owner’s name to open their contact page, then click Restore.
Part 2: Restore the Owner Ledger
Return to Client/Trust Accounts → Owner Ledger Balance.
Keep the filter on Archived.
Open the ledger and click Restore Ledger → Restore This Ledger.
Part 3: Run the Financial Details Report (Optional)
Navigate to Reporting → Trust Accounting → Financial Details Report.
Select the company and bank account, and set the date range.
Tick Date Override and Include Archived Ledgers.
Under Owners to Include, select the relevant owner(s).
Generate the report on-screen or download/print it as a PDF.
Troubleshooting Common Errors
Error: "Tenancy is related to a Trust/Client Account ledger that is no longer valid." - This occurs when the tenancy is linked to an archived ledger. Follow the steps to reactivate the ledger before restoring the tenancy or property.
By following these steps, you can efficiently restore archived ledgers and their associated entities in Re-Leased.
