Answers to common questions about connecting your Outlook email account to Re-Leased — covering licensing, synchronisation, email visibility, storage, security, and troubleshooting.
Licensing and Account Requirements
No specific Microsoft licence or compatibility restrictions apply. You can connect any Outlook email address — personal or business — and it does not need to match your Re-Leased login email.
Connecting Your Outlook Account
During the authorisation process, a permissions popup will appear.
Grant the requested permissions to enable email viewing and receiving within Re-Leased.
Note: Permissions must be granted for the integration to function.
Email Synchronisation
The integration pulls in past emails, but only for email addresses that match existing contacts in Re-Leased. Attachments cannot be managed via the integration — use Re-Leased's document storage feature instead, where files, images, and videos can be attached to records like maintenance requests and work orders.
Archiving Emails in Outlook
Archiving an email in Outlook does not remove it from Re-Leased. Archived emails remain accessible within Re-Leased.
Email Visibility by Plan
Core plan — you can view emails connected to your own account only.
Pro plan — you can make your email account visible to other users in your organisation, and view other users' email accounts that have been shared with you.
Email Storage and Security
Emails are not permanently stored in Re-Leased. If you disconnect your Outlook account, emails will no longer be visible. Security measures include: two-factor authentication, strict security protocols, and your Outlook password is never shared with Re-Leased. The integration is not accessible to third parties.
Microsoft Graph API Permissions
Re-Leased uses the Microsoft Graph API with OAuth 2.0 authentication. Permissions requested are: Mail.Read (read email messages), User.Read (read signed-in user profile), and Send (coming soon — send emails from the signed-in user's profile).
Why Is My Account Connection Expired?
Re-authentication may be required due to inactivity or account changes such as a password update, new security features, or security protocol changes. Re-Leased only prompts re-authentication when necessary.
Troubleshooting Integration Issues
If you encounter issues, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Outlook account. If your session or password has changed, reconnect to refresh the integration. Each user can connect one account, and an account can only be connected once — confirm no one else has already connected the account you are attempting to use.
