Understanding "Jobs" and "Tasks" in Maintenance

Understanding the difference between maintenance Jobs and Tasks in Re-Leased — Tasks are individual one-off events, Jobs are recurring series. Includes links to create and manage both types.

Updated over a week ago

In Re-Leased, maintenance is organised into Tasks and Jobs. Understanding the difference helps you create and manage maintenance more effectively.

Tasks

A Task is a single, standalone maintenance event. It has its own due date, allocated budget, and any associated work orders or quotes. One-off tasks are self-contained — all details live within that individual task.

See Managing Maintenance Tasks for more information.

Jobs

A Job is a collection of related recurring tasks. It acts as an umbrella for a series of tasks that repeat over time — useful for regular maintenance intervals.

See Managing Maintenance Jobs for more information.

Creating Maintenance

When you create a one-off task and save it, you land on the Task Details page where you can edit it or add Quote Requests and Work Orders.

When you create a recurring task and save it, you land on the Job Details page where you can view and edit each recurring task, or update the recurrence frequency.

See Create a Maintenance Task for step-by-step instructions.

Editing Maintenance

Most editing happens at the Task level. To update the recurrence frequency, edit the Job.
