Performing a Past Rent Review

How to perform a past rent review in Re-Leased — update rent for a prior date to create a backdated rent template, and optionally raise an invoice for the balance owed from the backdated period.

Updated over a week ago

A past rent review updates a tenancy's rent amount for a review date that has already passed. Re-Leased creates a new rent template from the review date and can raise a backdated invoice for any balance owed.

How to Perform a Past Rent Review

  1. Navigate to the tenancy and click Perform Rent Review.

  2. Select whether the rent has changed.

  3. If yes, enter the increase amount or percentage.

  4. Click Continue.

Re-Leased creates a new rent template starting from the review date. The new rent figure is billed from the next charge due date.

Raising a Backdated Invoice (Optional)

If a balance is owed from the backdated period:

  1. Review the Rent Adjustment Details showing how the backdated amount is calculated.

  2. Click Create Invoice to raise the invoice. You can adjust it before approving.

  3. If you prefer not to invoice now, select Skip.

Note: If you skip, no invoice is raised automatically. To charge the tenant later, you'll need to raise the invoice manually.

In North America, "Tenancies" are referred to as "Leases" and "Terms & Breaks" as "Terms & Options". For more information, see our Glossary of Regional Terminology.
