Re-Establishing Your QuickBooks Online Connection in Re-Leased

How to re-establish your QuickBooks Online connection in Re-Leased after access has been revoked — covers common causes and the step-by-step reconnection process.

Updated this week

If your QuickBooks Online connection has been revoked, a red banner will appear in Re-Leased. Only users with Manage Add-ons permissions will see it. Invoices failing to sync without any visible banner can also indicate a connection issue. No data is lost during revocation.

Common Causes of Revoked Access

  • QuickBooks Online trial expired — subscribe to restore access.

  • The connecting user lost QuickBooks Online access.

  • The app was accidentally or intentionally disconnected in QuickBooks settings.

  • System maintenance or upgrades in either Re-Leased or QuickBooks Online.

  • QuickBooks Online API outage.

How to Reconnect to QuickBooks Online

  1. Click the Reconnect to QuickBooks Online link in the banner.

  2. Click Continue through the connection walkthrough, then click Connect to QuickBooks.

  3. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.

  4. Select the same QuickBooks company you were originally connected to and click Next.

  5. The Sync From Date will be pre-filled with your original sync date. This cannot be changed when reconnecting.

Once reconnected, the sync will begin and may take some time. You can continue working in Re-Leased while it runs.
