Adding Terms to a Tenancy

How to add and renew terms in a Re-Leased tenancy — covering new term creation, rights of renewal, option expiry reminders, and renewing an existing term to update rent and rent reviews.

Updated over a week ago

Terms define the duration and conditions of a tenancy in Re-Leased, including rent amounts, rent reviews, and rights of renewal. You can add a new term or renew an existing one from the Terms & Breaks tab.

How to Create a New Term

  1. Open the tenancy and navigate to the Terms & Breaks tab in the left menu.

  2. Click + New Term.

  3. Fill in the term details as required.

  4. If the tenancy includes Rights of Renewal:

  • Click Add Right of Renewal for each renewal option specified in the lease agreement.

  • If an option expiry date is stated, tick the box and enter the date.

  • Set reminders for the option expiry date and select a Remind Me date to populate your dashboard calendar.

  • Use the red bin icon to remove any accidental entries.

  1. Click Save.

How to Renew an Existing Term

Renewing a term allows you to adjust rent and add rent reviews — it is different from creating a new term from scratch.

  1. Navigate to the Terms & Breaks tab and open the existing term.

  2. Click the renew button and update the details as required.

  3. Review all details carefully before saving.
