When you need to dispute an expense invoice or pause payment while resolving an issue, you can withhold payment in Re-Leased to prevent the invoice from being included in disbursements until you're ready to proceed.
Note: Payment withholding is available for Client/Trust Accounting customers only. You must have invoice edit permissions to withhold or release payment.
How to Withhold Payment
Navigate to the expense invoice you want to withhold.
Click the Withhold payment option in the invoice menu.
A banner will appear at the top of the invoice confirming that payment has been withheld. Withheld invoices will be excluded from all future disbursements and cannot be manually selected or included via Select all during disbursement processing.
How to Remove a Withhold
Open the expense invoice with the withhold.
Click Remove withhold in the invoice menu.
The banner will be removed and the invoice will become available for disbursement again.
Audit Trail
All withhold actions are logged in the invoice audit trail, recording who added and removed the withhold and when — providing a complete record for trust accounting compliance.
For Asia-Pacific customers, the term "Trust Account" is used. European customers refer to this as "Client Account". Client/Trust Accounting is not available to customers in North America. For more information on regional terminology, see our Glossary of Regional Terminology.
