Setting Up Arrears/Delinquency Rules

How to set up Arrears/Delinquency Rules in Re-Leased to automate communication sequences for overdue invoices — covers creating rules, defining triggers, delivery methods, and templates.

Updated over a week ago

Arrears Rules define the automated communication sequence triggered when a tenant has overdue invoices. Once set up, Re-Leased automatically flags matching overdue invoices for action based on the criteria you define.

Before creating arrears rules: ensure you have the relevant communication templates set up — email, letter, and text message. See the articles on Correspondence Templates and Text Message Templates for guidance.

Creating an Arrears Rule

  1. Go to Settings and select Arrears/Delinquency Rules.

  2. Click + Create New Arrears / Delinquency Rule.

  3. Assign a descriptive Title — this name appears during Arrears Hub selection.

  4. Choose the Arrears / Delinquency Type: Rent, Non-Rent, or Both.

  5. Under Actions, set the sequence of communications. Use the length and units fields to define when each step triggers, then click + Add Action and select the Delivery Method and Template for each step.

  6. Mark the rule as Default if it should be your company's primary rule — only one rule can be default.

  7. Click Save Rule.
