Disable Property Auto-Matching for Xero

How to disable property auto-matching for the Xero integration in Re-Leased — control whether the Related Property field on invoices is set automatically via tracking categories or manually by the user.

Updated over a week ago

By default, Re-Leased uses Xero tracking categories to automatically set the Related Property field on invoices. If your company doesn't use tracking categories, or you prefer to select properties manually on invoices, you can disable this behaviour using the Disable property auto-matching setting.

How It Works

When Disable property auto-matching is ON: The Related Property field is no longer set automatically based on tracking options. You can select properties manually on each invoice. Tracking category defaults on the Property Tracking page still apply to invoice lines as normal.

When Disable property auto-matching is OFF (default): The Related Property field is automatically set based on the tracking option assigned to the property. The property field cannot be edited manually on invoices.

How to Enable Disable Property Auto-Matching

  1. Navigate to Settings > Manage Add-ons and Integrations.

  2. Click View Details on the Xero tile.

  3. Select the Settings tab.

  4. Enable the Disable property auto-matching toggle.

When to Use This Setting

  • Your company does not use tracking categories — you still need to assign properties to invoices but have no tracking categories configured in Xero.

  • You want manual control over property assignment — you use tracking categories for reporting but prefer to select the related property on invoices yourself.

Troubleshooting

  • If you cannot edit the Related Property field on invoices, check that Disable property auto-matching is enabled under Settings > Manage Add-ons and Integrations > Xero > Settings.

  • If the property field is blank and you expect it to be auto-set, verify the toggle is disabled and that tracking defaults are configured on the property's Property Tracking page.

  • If tracking categories are not appearing on invoice lines, this is unrelated to the auto-matching setting. Check that tracking defaults are saved on the property in Property Tracking.
