Enabling the Pay Online Button on Invoices and Correspondence Templates

Add a Pay Online button to your Re-Leased invoice templates and correspondence templates so tenants can pay rent and arrears online. Covers default templates, individual tenancies, and arrears notices.

The Pay Online button lets tenants pay invoices directly from their email. You can add it to invoice templates, correspondence templates (including rent, outgoings, and arrears notices), and to individual invoices. Once enabled, tenants click Pay Online in their email to complete payment through Re-Leased Pay.

Adding the Pay Online Button to a Correspondence Template

  1. Navigate to Settings > Templates.

  2. Create a new correspondence template or open an existing one to edit.

  3. Click Insert Merge Fields and select the Pay Online Button merge field.

Note: The Pay Online Button merge field has been automatically added to the Rent, Outgoings, Arrears, and Repeating Invoice master correspondence templates.


Setting a Default Invoice Template with Pay Online Enabled

  1. Navigate to Settings > Invoice Templates.

  2. Ensure the invoice template with Pay Online enabled is set as the default.

  3. Once set as default, all new income invoices created for your tenancies will include the Pay Online button.

Once an invoice has been sent, the tenant will see a Pay Online button in their email.



Applying the Template to an Individual Tenancy

  1. Open the tenancy details page.

  2. Under Default Invoice Template, select your custom invoice template with Pay Online enabled.

  3. All income invoices generated for that tenancy will now include the button.

Adding Pay Online to an Existing Invoice

  1. Open the income invoice and click Edit.

  2. Locate the PDF Template field.

  3. Change the template to one that includes the Pay Online feature.

Adding Pay Online to Custom Arrears Correspondence Templates

  1. Navigate to Settings > Templates and open the arrears template you use.

  2. In the template editor, click +Body merge fields on the right-hand side.

  3. Select the Pay Online Button merge field and insert it at the desired location.

  4. Save the template.
