Importing Bank Statements into Client/Trust Accounts – CSV Mapping

How to import bank statements into Re-Leased Client/Trust Accounts using a CSV file — covers preparing your file, creating and saving column mappings, and approving pending imports for multiple accounts. APAC and EMEA only.

Updated over a week ago

Import bank statements for one or several Client/Trust Accounts at once using a CSV file. Re-Leased lets you map your CSV columns to the right fields, save that mapping for future use, and manage the approval process when importing across multiple accounts simultaneously.

Preparing Your CSV File

  • Multiple accounts — your CSV must include bank account numbers alongside transaction details. Account numbers must match those linked to your Client/Trust Accounts in Re-Leased exactly.

  • Single account — no account number column is needed. You'll select the bank account during the import process.

Starting the Import

  1. Navigate to the Client/Trust Accounts tab and click View bank statements.

  2. Click Import Bank Statement.

  3. Select your CSV file.

  4. Select Create new mapping to specify how each CSV column maps to fields in Re-Leased.

Mapping Your CSV File

  1. Match each CSV column to the corresponding field in Re-Leased.

  2. Click Save to store the mapping for future imports — next time, select it from the CSV mapping dropdown instead of mapping from scratch.

Note: If your CSV contains the bank account number in a single column, mapping it to one of the account code fields is sufficient for Re-Leased to recognise it.

Finalising and Approving Your Import

When importing multiple bank statements at once, Re-Leased uploads them in a Pending state. This allows statements to be reviewed and approved before reconciliation begins — particularly important if a disbursement is in progress at the same time. Once approved, you can proceed with reconciliation.

For Asia-Pacific customers, the term "Trust Account" is used. European customers refer to this as "Client Account". Client/Trust Accounting is not available to customers in North America. For more information on regional terminology, see our Glossary of Regional Terminology.
